Jessica Wright, star of the reality show The Only Way Is Essex, was due to appear on the Sky TV breakfast show Sunrise, but her interview was cancelled at the last minute because of news that the infamous North Korean leader had died.
“Interview on sky sunrise with arg has been cancelled due to kim Jong ill passing away. Rest in peace,” the 26-year-old tweeted.
After pretty much everyone on the internet tweeted back to explain that Kim Jong "Il" was actually a cruel tyrant, guilty of committing horrific human rights abuses against his own people, and issuing threats of nuclear war against the world, Wright promptly deleted the post and replaced it with the more neutral, “Interview on sky sunrise cancelled because Kim Jong died. Anyway back home for me and Arg then got a shoot later on!”
...Too late! The 'rest in peace' comment was already trending by that point.
A follow-up tweet read, “I spoke about something I wasn't aware of which apparently half my followers aren't either. Apologies lol.”
Fun fact: this woman is a university graduate and has a degree in business marketing.
