Is demand for Paris Hilton waning? Or does the socialite actually have a social conscience?
Paris Hilton’s cocaine possession case was officially closed yesterday, with the socialite having paid her $2000 fine, undergone substance counselling…and completing 28 hours more community service than was required!
Paris was ordered to do 200 hours of good deeds, but impressed the judge by clocking up 228.
That’s, like, more than two whole days of Paris doing stuff for other people without having to.
What’s going on here?
Are the paid party appearances a bit slow or does the socialite actually like being social and doing good deeds with normal civilians?
The heiress didn’t show up for the Las Vegas hearing, sending her lawyer along instead. But had she been there, she would’ve seen the judge’s clear surprise at her community service efforts, which included supporting the Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis event, helping paint over graffiti in Los Angeles and lending a hand at an animal shelter.
“It is my understanding that she has stayed out of trouble so the state has no objection in closing the case out,” the judge said.
30-year-old Paris pleaded guilty to two drug charges last September, after she was caught with a small baggie of cocaine while out partying with then beau, Cy Waits, in Vegas.
