Busted again! Winona Ryder caught shoplifting

, Prev Next Winona Ryder is back to her sticky-fingered ways. The 36-year-old actress was busted stealing make-up from a US department store, according to National Enquirer magazine.

Winona was sentenced to 480 hours of community service back in 2002 for shoplifting $5000 worth of clothing from a Beverly Hills store — and she famously defended herself in court saying she was simply getting into character for a film role.

This time Winona was allegedly busted with a much smaller haul — a few items of make-up.

A store employee told National Enquirer, "Winona had a bag of stuff, but she set off the theft alarm when she left the store. When a security guard stopped her, he found make-up she had not paid for."

When questioned about the make-up, Winona answered: "I don't know how that happened."

The staff decided not to press charges. They simply took the make-up back and let Winona go.

Winona's publicist at first denied the incident took place. But when told a store employee had confirmed it, said she would check with her client again.

Winona obviously takes her craft very seriously (acting that is, not stealing). Wonder what film role she's preparing for this time... Maybe it's the sequel?

Give her a break, she's Gen X so she's just rebelling! She's all like...whatever
Regarding the previous comment.... When you say that you can understand other people from "other cultures" stealing because they don't have money, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean a foreigner with no money is more likely to steal than an Australian of Anglo or Celtic decent? Or do you mean "other" cultures within your own country, such as Aboriginal people or Asian migrants - are you saying that those people are more likely to steal when poor? Although arguably, one can say that Australian Aboriginal people in Australia are not an "other culture", but rather a marginalised culture grown from the motherland -- it is the majority that oppresses them, making them an "other". "Regular people" that "have no money" are too busy working (sometimes two jobs) to EARN money to risk stealing. Theft is a crime of conscience, not poverty! On topic now, Winona was pretty cool in the 80s. Wonder what happened to her?
I remember reading about her a long time ago about her stealing. She definitely has a problem thats for sure but she has the money to get the help so why doesnt she go get it!? she also has plenty of money so i dont understand why she would even feel the need to steal? i can understand regular people who have no money (from other cultures) that do this but a movie star with millions? pfftt, its absolutely pathetic and unreal.
Isnt it great to see the affluent society doing crime. We should all give Wynona a break because she is a celebrity with a problem. The law should always be harsher on the minor classes as they have no money or fame to support their inferior opinions. Every celebrity should receive five finger discounts so that they can keep their millions of dollars for the more important things in this world like another mansion or another 10 sports cars.
"Celebrities get it good! What happens when we steal...we get punished for it, what happens when a celebrity steals they get let off, what happens when we drive stupidly...we get punished for it, what happens when celebritys drive stupidly...they get let off with a warning! What i'm trying to say is I think its totally unfair when were all the same we may not have heaps of money like them but they could at least give them the same treatment as they would any other normal person!!! A bit unfair...don't you think?? Everyone should be treated like everyone else so if we do something wrong like STEAL and we get fined or whatever the case may be then they should get the exact same things as well, not oh thats ok your famous so we'll let you off lightly this time! What a joke!!! I thinks its completely and utterly diguisting" -~-~- It is a joke hey..just a very bad one. And noones laughing except them.
noone in their right mind would steal things when they are rich enough to afford it. unless shes tryna prove some kinda point...but its doubtful. and what point what it be anyways
Do u think it might be just a simple case of she forgot she had it??? Does everything have to be about committing a crime??!! Give the girl a break, these guys have enough publicity without dealing with us judging them as well.
So many "modern" celeberities haave said they want to help the community and be role-models for people. Celebs really need to be seen as good role-models as the influence they wield in our modern society is just immense. The studios need to get involved with this, punishing in a monetary and career sense. These people need to be punished in a legal way as well.
Hahah fun fun. No way should celebs be prosecuted harder than anyone else. We are all equals. Any kid that thinks celebs are cool is a total idiot. Duh. Smack your kids!
