Internet-savvy Hollywood types have taken to their Twitter accounts to pay tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson, who tragically died from a heart attack today.

Distraught by the death of this musical genius, celebs Twittered that they'd been inspired by Michael's talent, his passion for performing, love for entertaining and his brilliance and originality.

Michael Jackson you were truely the king of pop, and i will always remember you =] although i never got to meet you, you were a total inspiration for me and for others =] i am only 11 but i absolutely love and adore all your songs =] i really do love you and your songs, i am now a fan of you and always will. you wrote the best pop songs and no mater how old everyone is you will always be remembered as the King Of Pop. I know they just did it because they think it'll get more people to read this article, just pointing out.

Its been a few days now and it still hasn't sunk in. We have truly lost a talented musician, artist and entertainer of all time. His music will definitely live on forever...I think a moment like this will be written down in history as when the world actually paused for a minute...for hours...in tears...silence...mourning the loss of a human being...who (at times people didn't realize) would such an emotional impact across the globe... i hate him so much. have you heard what he posted about MJ just moments before he died? i mean MJ had a heart attack and he was saying very inhuman stuff. this is my opinion so please dont bash my comment. RIP MJ. Your music would always live on.

michael jackson was the BEST entertainer of my generation! no one has beaten him and i doubt anyone will. hes just that awsum. no more is needed to be said on the comment. he was just awsum.

the day mj died the music died too. Whether you were a fan or not everyone had enjoyed his music. Through his music and dance he was a positive role model for young people. He was truly talented. His music was all about danceing and singing, unlike a lot of the crap around today which is all about drugs, sex and gangs. I think he was way ahead of his time when he wrote songs such as Man in the Mirror, Leave me alone, The Earth Song. It amazes me none of the media has stated the obvious,that he made a lot of money for a lot of people. That is money for the media printing controversial stories(because everyone knows controversy sells), money for the paparazie hounding and stalking him for photos so that they can sell it to the magazines, money for tv shows and interviews, money for all the lawyers, money for all the promoters, record companies, accountants, charities, and other people sueing him just because he was a soft target. Why was he broke, not rocket science people.
