John Travolta to adopt another child?

Less than six months after the tragic death of their son Jett, John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are reportedly thinking of adopting a young boy.

Star report that the couple are thinking of adopting a child a few years younger than their nine-year-old daughter Ella, after friends suggested it could be a good way to help the grieving family move on.

“Ella said it would make Jett happy to see Mom and Dad smiling again," said their source.

"They really believe another child will benefit the whole family, and it will be a beautiful tribute to Jett.”

John and Kelly are devoted Scientologists and are said to be considering the same adoption agency that Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman went to when adopting kids Isabella and Connor.

“The church has access to adoptable Scientology children,” the source said.

“Members encouraged John and Kelly, telling them that bringing another child into their home is the right thing to do.

The Travoltas are still "shell-shocked" after 16-year-old Jett died fllowing a seizure.

“Their grief is beyond words," said the source.

"John feels like his heart has been ripped out. He shuts himself in a room for hours, while Kelly grieves alone.”

There are so many kids that need parents. Adopting is a very beautiful thing to do. They seem to be loving parents and would do anything for them, so why not. Especially those who are able to take care of kids financially and emotionally. Go for it! More people should do it. Less restrictions. More families, and less need for foster homes and orphanages. They're Scientologists but Muslims believe helping orphans is one of the most noble acts a person can do.

why it is that Tom Cruise is the devil incarnate because he is a scientologist yet the travoltas are angels from heaven?? the double standards are staggering! I have to wonder if Tom was to (heaven forbid) lose Suri if you would all be so compassionate to him and if he was thinking of adopting a child into scientology, because the members said he should, if you would condemn him?? For some reason the travolta's have not copped any flak over the treatment of their child's condition due to the teachings of scientology. I too love the travolta's... i wish them nothing but happiness adn it is not my place to judge whatever decision they make as i am not walkign in their shoes. I love the Cruise's too...i just had to bring this up as the blatant double standards issue baffles me!

Leave them.. .no one has the right to judge John and Kellys desision they have made for their family. Im sure they have plenty of love to give to a child or children that needs adopting. They have been through alot, they are lovely people.Just because they are celebs doesnt mean they arnt people just like you and me...wishing better times ahead for the Travolta Family.

Perhaps one of the people who commented before me were right, perhaps the travolta family do just have more love to give and feel that another child can fit into there Hectic life.... however, whoever reported on this story has possibly (and i know it isn't definate) made the travolta's look bad by insinuating that the adoptive child was " A REPLACEMENT FOR JETT "... that is one possibility you all need to think about before dissing the family...and like i said i could be wrong...but lets not think wrongly of them, when it could merely be a case of reporter error!!

To adopt a poor child without a mother and without a father is the best thinng you can do. All the other so no no its too early. maybe it is. But think of all those poor kids out there that havn't got a life yet. I realy think you should adopt it will fill the gap in your heart. And the main thing i am happy about it is gona give some less fortunate kid out there a better life.

they arent trying to replace their son. they are trying to fill the gap that has been created by his death. their son would want to see them happy, giving another child a loving home and family will obviously make them happy. no child can ever replace the loss of another one, they cannot replace him, they will never replace him, they dont want to replace him, they are simply doing what they think is right, they are doing this to make it easier for themselves to accept what has happened.

It's true, children are not puppies or shoes but as someone who HAS done this, it is the best thing that I have ever done. When a child is suddenly gone there is a hole that burns so deeply. You cannot fix that but the silence that takes over can be filled with other noises. I took in an 8 year old boy who had no choice but to be with me. For a while we walked around one another warily, quite like it was when we adopted an abused pound puppy but, just like with the puppy, we grew to know one another and love one another. My son from another mother is as much a part of my family as all of my children. He is loved, he is cherished and he has brought to us as much ~ or more ~ than we gave to him. He has been with us for 4 years and will always be family. Blood does not make us parents, it is love. If you have it to give, then give and give well. I think this is a splendid idea, very giving and more than equal in receiving. Bless children, they can and do heal the world.

I just lost my 19 year daughter on March 30, 2009. She passed away from complications from an infection while fighting leukemia. My heart is torn into fragments. I am so lost. I dont think another child could ease my pain. Celebs are so out there. They have their money and they can run off to islands and grieve and so on and so on.I get up every day in the same place and I deal with it head on. Who gives a crap what Travolta does or any other celeb. The ones now days have no talent,they will never have the class of the stars gone by. The movies suck. They are an embaressment to the the great people who started the business. So sorry for the Travoltas. Let them do there own thing. Leave them alone.
