You cant compare Princess di, Marylin to Paris Hilton. If she worked to earn her money instead of getting into trouble with people, I bet she could be an Icon.

Paris is not even blonde.. look at her childhood pics and u can see she is a brunette... get over it ppl... paris is paris..icon no..rich yes.. i like her, but in comparison to princess di or marilyn..i don't think so... she makes headlines because the media have no one else to *** on.. simple

Am I the only one here that loves Paris? She's cute, she's sexy, and she's not as stupid as she looks. She has utilised her advantageous birth to propel her career- yes that's right, she has done more with her life than most of those jealous cows that *** about Paris not earning a dollar in her life. She has starred in movies (not just her porno- i have to say her acting skills in One Night In Paris were pretty bad), released an album, starred in a couple of tv shows and she has her own line of bags and shoes. What have you done with your life? Furthermore, Marilyn Monroe wasn't all that different to Paris. Has anyone seen Gentlemen Prefer Blondes? There is a striking similarity in their mannerisms. And by the way...everybody only loves Princess Di because she's dead. She may have done charity work, but so has Paris. When she was alive, she was lauded as a low-class ***. The almost matyr status of Diana has its roots firmly in the media, just like Paris' contrived "***" label.

Just a follow up to the comment "She's Great" Paris hasn't earnt a dollar in her entire life. She shops, she drives around, she goes on holidays all paid for by her rather enormous trust fund that was both earned and mananged by someone else. She wouldn't know a hard days work if it came up and smacked her, TV shows notwithstanding. Recognition should be given to those who earn it...not to those who flouce around without the will, persistance or moral fibre to make something out of their life.

To think of Paris Hilton in the same sentence as Princess Diana is almost blasphemous, and that's from someone who's an aetheist. Princess Diana gave her time and will and money to many different charities. She devoted herself tirelessly to the children of Africa, those suffering AIDS and cancer, and promoting both literacy and womens rights throughout the world. All Paris Hilton has done for the world is smother it in make-up, appalling movies and banged up cars. The only thing she's promoted...other than herself...is a lack of confidence in the body image of millions of young women around the world. She should not be lauded as the blonde icon of the decade, she should be locked up...oh that's right, they tried that already!

No wonder blondes get a bad name. I have never read anything good about Paris. Yes I am one of the jealous one's. I would love her money (who wouldn't) but I am so very glad I don't have her brains. I couldn't bear to be that stupid. She definitely shouldn't be classed as an icon. Except of course if they are giving out awards for the most typical blonde of the century. Sheis an insult to blondes.
