McDonald's first ad: the creepiest commercial ever

, Prev Next That's Ronald McDonald as we know him today. With his solid mass of red hair, outrageous duds and unceasing smile, some might say he's a little creepy... but he's nowhere near as scary the the Ronald who appeared in the very first McDonald's commercial in 1963. Check it out:

Whoa. The original Ronald is so creepy he makes modern-day Ronald look completely normal in comparison - if kids saw him anywhere near their local Maccas, no way would they want to eat a hamburger ever again!

What is there so creepy about a clown?
The concept that you can sit, watch tv, and eat an endless supply of "burgers"... no wonder we have a fat America! So many of the population sit, eat and watch the world go by... They have permeated to the far corners of this earth... Nestle be warned...Drug companies your partners in crime!
That is scarrry!
the original tv ronald mcdonald was an actor named willard scott who later went on to become a 'character' weather announcer on the national broadcasts such as the today show of the american network nbc. (i wonder he hasnt bought up all these old videotapes and destroyed them, but he is famous for having a sense of humour.) they used to show him rollerskating with that cardboard food tray on his head. this was like early television and i barely remember seeing his ads. he'd say things like 'come as you are, you can eat in your car'. it was 100% drive in then, and no car hops, a stark innovation. open counters, ceiling mounted swing fans, and yellow bug lights. you had to park and get out to place an order etc. the golden arches were actually neon rainbows and just painted yellow so they'd show up during the day. no one would ever go to one now. harry's cafe de wheels has more style.
Whoah...scary!
Yeah, that Ronald is creepy but what has that got to do with what goes into a McDonalds burger??? McDonalds has passed the healthy eating test, infact they are healthier than KFC. What would you prefer, a fresh burger or chicken that is pressure cooked in oil for 7 minutes!
Ronald Mc Donald is cheap and nasty.. like it's food.
