Are these still Australia's naughtiest videos?

, Prev Next It's one of the most notorious moments in Australian television history: in 1992, comedian Doug Mulray hosted a special that aired on the Nine Network titled Australia's Naughtiest Home Video Show. As you might have guessed from the title, it was an hour and a half of, well, naughty videos.

But it's what happened next that's so juicy: Nine's then-overlord Kerry Packer saw what was playing on his network, phoned in, and demanded they "get this shit off the air". Naughtiest Home Videos was immediately pulled and replaced by Cheers reruns... irritating the hundreds of viewers getting a kick out of the cheeky clips (where else could you see such a thing in those pre-YouTube days?).

Clearly standards have changed in the intervening 16 years: Nine is rebroadcasting Naughtiest Home Videos in full, on Thursday, August 28, at 8.30pm.

But the big question is, are the videos as naughty now as were then? Check out these two clips and judge for yourself: a nanna who won't take any cheek from a half-naked stripper; and a gorilla who snacks on something really gross.

Do you think Australia's Naughtiest Home Video Show seems all that naughty by today's standards... or have you seen worse on YouTube?

everyone knows that sex sells. This show was no different and shows that channel 9 know what people want to see. Sure it's tacky and in poor taste - so what? There will be a large audience who crave any sexual innuendo and the slightest bit of nudity. Despite the one sided views in the above comments I reckon there will be heaps of viewers who love this sort of thing
A nice program to watch and to pass the time.
I will never watch it again.Bring back the OZZY version
its a shame to see that they have taken an australian icon comdey and let the americans do a average job.there is only one kath and kim and no one else can come close to doing it justice.
After 10 minutes we couldn't bear anymore. Even worse, K
After all the appalling shows we have to watch from the US why do we have to sit through another, and shock horror trying to make a US version of our own Foxy Ladies. Bring back more OZ tv.
are we that immature to laugh at this?
Why's everyone here complaining? Why the high expectations? It was supposed to be a one off show anyway, for people who like crass entertainment just like the family version. It only became famous cos it was axed, which doesn't make it anymore special. I just watched it as a great time capsule of simpler times.
Just when I thought it imposable for channel nine to sink further to the bottom of commercial TV, you put on “The Naughtiest Video Show” Yes Congratulations you have set an all time low on Australian TV you only have to take big brother from Ten and will achieve the crown for rubbish TV. I could feel Kerry Packer reaching for the off switch. I intend to make sure I don’t watch nine any more I would rather slam my fingers in the car door than to go through the pain of watching your rubbish. Oh Current affairs ….. Watch George Negus that’s current affairs in could be even bearable if you would run a different story line up to Seven. Get it together please……….The public needs good free to air TV.
Nice big Sook job you did there. Us Rednecks in Townsville really get a kick out of stuff like Funniest Home Videos. If you don't like something then don't watch it Why ruin it for people who may like it. Nine should also bring back The Paul Hogan show for people that missed it too. Pull your head in ,you high horsed ***
