Madonna was "disappointed" at her birthday bash

, Prev Next
Madonna celebrated her 50th birthday over the weekend at an exclusive London club, organised by hubby, Guy Ritchie. The birthday girl partied with a modest 90 guests, but was apparently disappointed with the absence of some of her close friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney.

According to The Mirror, Madonna told her guests: “I’m really disappointed. There are a lot of people who are not here tonight, but thanks to everyone who did make it.

“I can’t believe I have reached half a century. It only happens once and this is an event I’m glad to be sharing with you.”

A little disappointment didn’t stop the Material Girl from having her fair share of fun, though! She enjoyed the momentous occasion by dancing the night away to some of her very own hits. As you do...

According to The Sun, Guy pretty much silenced any rumours of marital issues in his speech.

“She looks better now than she ever has done... I’m so proud. I love her so much.” Awww...

Other highlights of the night included Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, playing her little heart out on the piano and illusionist, David Blaine, performing a card trick or two.

Happy Birthday, Madge!
