Lisa Marie says the media are "brutal"

The 40-year-old singer and only daughter of the late Elvis Presley says she and husband Michael Lockwood are "beyond thrilled and blessed, elated and saturated in happiness" thanks to their unborn bubs.

"Thank you so much for all of the amazing positive energy and beautiful well wishes," she wrote. "We love reading them."

Lisa Marie took the opportunity to reassure fans that her music career is still going strong, and that after a baby break she will be recording some new tracks.

But she also had some venomous words about the media, saying she is over their constant stickybeaking and says that the celeb-harassing trend is only getting worse these days.

"In the past couple of years, high profile type people seem to have less and less rights," she wrote. "Less privacy and protection. The onslaught of Internet and tabloid sites mostly want only blood now.

"They have managed to make being a public figure a 24/7 public stoning and execution of various sorts. Some obviously more brutal than others."

And she should know - before Lisa Marie announced her latest pregnancy, pics of her new curvier frame had already been plastered across magazine covers with headlines screaming she had become massively overweight like her late father. The cruel taunts forced her to explain she was actually pregnant.
