Heath's family to attend Dark Knight premiere

 2/06/2008 7:45:00 AM, CelebrityFIX Prev Next The family of the late Heath Ledger are reportedly flying to New York to attend the premiere of their son's last completed film, The Dark Knight.

Making the trek from their home in Perth, they'll be appearing in place of their son, who died on January 22.

Heath's performance as The Joker in the Batman flick is being touted as the best performance in a comic-book adaptation ever - with Oscar rumours already circulating.

omg u guys r so sad. i understand that u guys luv heath, so did i but fighting about how carp the bloody movie is is just plain immature! we should b celebrating his live not being stuck up brats. btw i luv all his movies, lol
i can honestly say, heath ledger is amazing in this movie. he portrays the character perfectly and deserves all the recognition he is receiving. Personally I believe the movie wouldn't almost be as entertaining without him. Definately a favourite, and definately one of his best.
In response to a comment over the page, Batman Begins has been deemed by many to be the best superhero movie ever made, and is ranked as 103 on IMDb's top 250 movies of all time, as voted for by over 166 thousand viewers. TDK has been hyped since it went into production, with the so called "oscar whispers" for Heath coming in well before his death with a push at WB to back him for an oscar nom. Please read before you post. TDK is, and has always been, tipped as the "most hyped" film of 2008 with competition only from Indy.

It is now time to celebrate and enjoy Heath's presence that live on in his movies. Heath you are a remarkable young man who followed his dreams and made them come true. As a fan of Batman, Movies and of course Heath Ledger i hope the fact that Heaths untimely death does not overshadow the great performance he is sure to make in the film judging by the trailers. His performance should be acknowledged for what it is sure to be, breathtaking.

kez25, - i think your taste is off since the original batmans were horrible and not batman at all, if you read the comic books you'd see that Batman Begins was the best adaptation there could be, and seriously a real film like Batman Begins you hated but you liked the originals which were awful even if they weren't at all much like Batman. Please. Batman Begins used The man who falls, The Long Halloween and Year One as the influences and The Long Halloween is a major part of The Dark Knight. Batman Begins is actually Batman which is why most comic book fans were happy.
very little hype until Heath's death? WHAT? maybe you missed it but just because you missed it doesn't eman it wasn't there, haven't you heard of the epic viral marketing campaign they have been doing for more than a year now? huh? seem you're out of the loop with everything. This film was the most anticipated film long before Ledger died.
Jax, Earth - actually The Dark Knight was filmed like a crime drama and i don't see how you couldn't even see the difference in the trailers between this movie and other superhero movies. Even Batman begins was different, filmed like a real movie with English Drama influences.
