Sophie Monk has revealed exclusively to TheFIX the one downside of her new role as a co-host on 2DayFM's new Breakfast with the Stars morning radio show with Merrick Watts, Jules Lund and Mel B.
"Well, my sex life is over, and that's it," Sophie tells TheFIX. "Unless someone wants to meet me for dinner at four! That'll keep me out of trouble, it's a contraceptive that's for sure!"
With a wake-up time of 2am and bedtime of 8pm ("and that's too late!"), Sophie doesn't mind the unusual schedule.
"I love my job because it's got nothing to do with the way you look," she says. "I can rock up looking ugly as well. I'm a bit like a dude, I'm just in disguise as sometimes looking accidentally hot!"
The 34-year-old former Bardot singer and Hollywood starlet maintains that there's no bad blood between her and former radio colleagues Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, who will take their rival show to Kiis FM next week.
"Business is business, and personal life is personal life," she says. "It's fun competition in that way, but you just gotta do what you gotta do."
Sophie adds that she and Kyle and Jackie O have wished one another luck with their shows. As for her new workmates, Sophie says it's like a "high-school reunion".
"Merrick, I actually started radio with back at Nova and then with Jules I obviously worked with Fifi [Sophie stood in for Fifi Box during her maternity leave]. Mel was the newest for me, but she's probably the one I'm closest to now," she reveals.
"My favourite thing about the show, because I've been listening to breakfast radio in Sydney for years and years and years, is that it genuinely makes me laugh. It's like I'm getting paid to hang out with the cool people."
But we had one more thing to ask: How would Sophie feel about interviewing Lara Bingle, the new girlfriend of Sophie's ex Sam Worthington?
"I don't really hold grudges and everything happens for a reason and moves on," she says carefully. "There's no-one I wouldn't interview … it's more likely they wouldn't want to come to me!"
Sophie has one guest at the top of her hit-list: "Leonardo DiCaprio. We're meant to be together, he just doesn't know."
Breakfast with the Stars airs 6am to 9pm on 2DayFM. Check out the team in action recently on the Today show:
