Celebrity chef Manu Feildel is being questioned by police for driving unaccompanied without displaying his L-plates.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the incident occurred just ten minutes after returning home to the Sydney suburb of Woollahra, after a driving lesson with a friend.
After practicing his parking at Edgecliff Post Office, he then drove to a hardware store in Double Bay, where he was questioned by the newspaper about his absent learner plates. Watch the video above.
"No excuses I take full responsibility for my silly actions," the My Kitchen Rules host said in defence of his actions.
Manu could face hefty fines of up to $1000 for the incident and possibly a three month suspension of his licence.
"He's not above the law," Chief Inspector Mark Cook said.
"A person should know better."
"When they get their learner's licence [the laws are] clearly explained to them."
My Kitchen Rules returns to Network Seven on January 28.
