"Khloe has been very open about her fertility issues and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine," Kim told Today's Samantha Guthrie.
"And I have similar issues, and so it was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens."
Kim called her pregnancy, which she and boyfriend Kanye confirmed in December, "a blessing knowing my circumstances".
It's the first time Kim has publicly admitted to having fertility issues — watch the video to hear what else she had to say.
The 32-year-old reality star also revealed that her baby is due in July, but her and Kanye are not rushing to walk down the aisle before then. Besides, she's still technically married to Kris Humphries.
"It's something that we talk about, but I think it's just right now [we're] focusing on the baby," Kim said.
"What I've learned in life is — I was always such a planner ... you think your life is going to be a certain way, and the best surprises just happen when you don't plan."
In the meantime, Kim is hoping her divorce to Kris goes smoothly ("It's a process … it's happening, hopefully") as she returns to TV screens on Kourtney & Kim Take Miami on January 20. We're sure to see plenty of baby talk this season!
