Charlie Sheen has apologised for calling guests at the opening of his new bar "faggots" after apparently confusing the word with maggots.
"I meant to say maggot but I have a lisp," he told TMZ today.
The celebrity website filmed Charlie's colourful welcome speech to the crowd at The Goose, in the celeb-infested town of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and contacted the star about his use of the homophobic slur.
"How we doing? Lying bunch of faggot assholes," Charlie said on Sunday after taking the stage at the party.
"I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologise if I offended anyone," he later clarified.
