The circumstances of Whitney Houston’s “accidental” death last February have been called into question, with a Hollywood private investigator claiming to have evidence that the singer did not die by “accident” as previously recorded.
Former Chicago cop-turned-actor Paul Huebl has said that he has handed over evidence to the FBI showing that the singer, then 48, was killed over a drug debt.
“I have evidence that points to Whitney being a victim of a high-powered drug dealer who sent thugs to collect a huge debt she owed for drugs,” Huebl told the National Enquirer.
Huebl is hoping that video footage of two men entering the hotel where the singer died in February, along with his reassessment of the autopsy and connections to a network of drug informants, will be used by the FBI in the investigation of the ongoing case.
In his evidence, the investigator points out two unknown men made repeat appearances at the Beverly Hilton, where Houston was staying at the time of her death.
He believes that these men were sent by dealers to harass her into paying an estimated $1.5 million drug debt.
Despite the coroner’s report stating there was no evidence of foul play, and that Houston had drowned in her hotel bathtub after taking a cocktail of cocaine, marijuana and several legal drugs, Huebl believes that there is more to the story.
“Whitney’s body shows classic defense wounds that would have occurred while she was battling for her life,” said the former cop.
“I think that if you put all these things together, they do kind of spell homicide, with a big red capital ‘H’,”' he told MailOnline.
Huebl started the investigation after being hired by an anonymous client who did not believe the official reports on her death.
According to MailOnline, Huebl believes that Beverley Hills police did not adequately investigate the suspicious death because they did not want to bring any negative attention to Beverly Hills nor to the Beverly Hilton.
The FBI has not made any comments regarding the new evidence.
