It's been a strange week for the cast of Two and a Half Men. After yesterday's shock outburst from child star Angus T Jones, the 19-year-old has since issued a public apology. Not before former Half-er Charlie Sheen labelled the show as "cursed", however.
Yesterday, Angus called the popular sitcom “ungodly filth” in a promotional video for his church.
Today, Angus, who is paid $350,000 per episode, has backpedalled and issued the following statement:
"Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date.”
“I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them.
“I apologise if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that."
His former co-star Charlie Sheen weighed in, beating Angus to the apology-punch.
"With Angus's Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear to me that the show is cursed,” Charlie told People magazine.
The "Hale-Bopp" reference points back to the Heaven's Gate cult in the late ‘90s that believed aliens would whisk the cultists away from Earth in a spaceship — but only after killing themselves.
Of course, Charlie Sheen has been vocal himself in trashing the show that relaunched his career.
