"The time is nigh. It's soon. I got a good feeling about it," the 48-year-old actor told People magazine at the New York premiere of his thriller Killing Them Softly on Monday night.
"I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come."

Brangelina announced their engagement in April after seven years together. The couple, who have six children in their ever-expanding brood, has previously stated that they won't get hitched until same-sex marriage is passed across the whole United States, not just in a few states.
"It's equality, that's what I'm pushing," Brad told People.
"That's what separates us. That's what makes this country great. And I'll tell you what, since we've been engaged, I'm surprised how much it meant to me and everyone should have that."
Angelina did not attend the premiere as she is currently in Cambodia working on the couple's charity, the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which helps poor communities in rural areas.
In another new interview, Brad was asked by CNN how he felt about the strong response to his recent über-serious Chanel No 5 commercial.
"I say fair play!" he said.
When asked about the ad being all over TV, he added, "You know, I'm not a part of that side of the marketing, but fair play".
Wonder if Ange will be wearing that perfume when she walks down the aisle?
