The 25-year-old Sydneysider, whose poor-rating reality show Being Lara Bingle was axed in August, tweeted a message of support to the victims of superstorm Sandy's wrath in the US.
"#staysafe #inmyprayers #sandy #newyork," the reality star wrote to more than 80,000 followers with an Instagram picture of the storm hitting New York (above).
Only thing is, the picture she posted was a photoshopped Independence Day-style meme doing the rounds of the net. Oops!
At least her heart was in the right place.
She wasn't the only person to mistake the picture for the real deal.
As Gawker noticed, journalists from the New York Times, the New Yorker and website Buzzfeed tweeted the fake pic.
The photo is a mash-up of the Statue of Liberty superimposed with a picture of a 2004 Nebraska thunderstorm looming above, taken by Mike Hollingshead.
Innocent mistake, right?
