"It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends," the couple told People magazine in a statement.
Around 80 guests attended the moonlit ceremony, held at the Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia, southern Italy.
It's safe to say the good-looking couple splashed out big time for their big day. According to Radar Online, the JTs could have easily coughed up $6 million through costs like accommodation and transport for their dozens of friends.
Compare that to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' ill-fated nuptials in 2006, also in Italy. Their castle wedding reportedly cost between $2 million and $3.5 million, some of that towards 300 bottles of wine and champagne.
The nuptials were tightly protected by a "masses of security guards" and powerful lights focussing the opposite way to the church "to keep prying eyes away", The Sun reports.
Guests weren't even told the location until the last minute, such was the secrecy around the mega-wedding.
Celebrity guests included rapper Timbaland, Saturday Night Live comedian Andy Samberg, and Justin's four 'N Sync band members Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and JC Chasez.
Husband and wife have since been photographed boarding a plane at an Italian airport.
Given the grandeur of their wedding, the honeymoon must be really be out of this world. Any ideas, people?
