Katy Perry is reportedly "devastated" following the death of her ex-boyfriend, actor Johnny Lewis.
Johnny, known for his small-screen roles on Sons of Anarchy and The OC, was said to be the inspiration behind Katy's hit single 'The One That Got Away'.
"She had to separate from him ... to get ahead and focus on her career," one source told Us Weekly.
"He was in trouble then and she couldn't help him."
Johnny and Katy dated from 2005-2006. The 28-year-old actor was found dead on Wednesday after allegedly murdering his 81-year-old landlady Catherine Davis and falling off a roof.
Johnny had been released from jail one week prior to the incident.
