'I was black!' Tan Mom sees the light after quitting tanning, swears she didn't put her redhead daughter in a sunbed

Former tanning addict Patricia "Tan Mom" Krentcil says she never realised how ridiculous she looked until she saw photos of herself in the press after becoming famous.

The 44-year-old former model is under investigation for allegedly putting her six-year-old daughter in a tanning bed. But she insists she's innocent.

Tan Mom explains her watertight defence to the paparazzi in the clip above. It goes something along the lines of: "My kid is a redhead, and redheads can't tan."

Case closed!

Tan Mom also says she's replaced her old skin-crisping beauty regime with gentle lotions and chemical peels.

"I was black!" she jokes with the paps.

The single mum is fighting accusations that she burned her daughter's skin in a tanning bed earlier this year.
