Watch: Tom Hanks pimps his ride by sticky-taping his Emmy to the hood

Tom Hanks, or "Hanx" as he's calling himself on Twitter, came up with a nifty way to show off the Emmy award he won yesterday for producing the Sarah Palin telemovie Game Change.

The 56-year-old Forrest Gump star rolled out some household sticky-tape to turn his luxury Lincoln limo rental into an Emmy-inspired Rolls Royce-style ride.

Tom proudly showed off his amateur car job in a video he posted on Twitter — watch above.

"How I'm getting around these days! Hanx," the double Oscar winner tweeted after attending the HBO after-party with wife Rita Wilson.

Tom's followers lapped it up.

"Hahaha you're crazy!! Congrats on your win tonight!! Much love from a crazy admirer from Greece! Xoxo," one wrote.

"Oh, hi. I love you. That is all," another posted.

Tom, who has won five Emmys over the years, is suddenly the coolest over-50 in Hollywood. Last month, he pretended to be drunk for a fan's photos, while last year, he refunded some fans who told him they hated his movie Larry Crowne. What a guy!
