Maria Shriver ambushed Arnold Schwarzenegger during a couples counselling session to learn the truth about his lovechild.
According to Arnold's upcoming memoir, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, Maria had long suspected he had fathered their housekeeper's son.
Arnold denied it, but it all came to a head during a therapy session the day after he left his role as California Governor.
"The minute we sat down, the therapist turned to me and said, 'Maria wanted to come here today and to ask about a child — whether you fathered a child with your housekeeper Mildred,'" Arnold writes.
"I told the therapist, 'It's true.'"
The child was conceived while Arnold's family was on holiday, and he remained in California to work on Batman & Robin.
In the book, Arnold also reveals that he hopes to rekindle the flame with his now-estranged wife.
“You can call this denial but it's the way my mind works,” he writes.
