Being Michael Jackson's daughter comes with a lot of baggage. As if the media attention and family in-fighting wasn't enough for Paris Jackson, the 14-year-old has revealed her troubles with schoolyard bullying in a new interview with Glamour magazine.
"The clique in my class, they don't like me or my friend because we're outside the box. We're not copycats," she told the UK magazine.
"Prince [her 15-year-old brother] calls me goth, but I'm more rock 'n' roll."
"A tonne of kids at school have made fun of me. If I have to give advice to other girls, I would say, 'Hang loose and ignore them. They shouldn't faze you no matter how popular they think they are.'"
Paris first talked about being cyber-bullied in a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey in June (see video below).
So even celebrities' kids have problems with the "cool" group. But for Paris, there's the added pressure of trying to live up to her father's name.
"I love my dad, and I'm proud to be his daughter. I just don't think the title 'MJ's daughter' fits me'," Paris said.
"A lot of people think he's the only reason I'm making it, but I want to show that I do have talent and that I can make it if I try. I want to be my own person."
In the same interview, Paris revealed that not everyone in her troubled family wants her to pursue an acting career.
"A lot of people don't want me to do it," she said. "But Aunt LaToya believes in me. She heard me play a little guitar and sing, and she started clapping, 'Oh my God, oh my God'. She really does encourage me, it's just awesome of her."
Back in July, Paris' other famous aunt, Janet was reportedly against Paris' plans to act in her first movie role in Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys.
Two months earlier, Janet told Prevention magazine that she wants Paris to "enjoy being a kid, possibly go to college or not but wait till she turns 18".
Janet allegedly "slapped" Paris and took her phone during the Jackson family custody dispute last month (TMZ footage below). Paris ' 82-year-old grandmother Katherine lost full guardianship of the kids, now sharing guardianship with Paris' uncle TJ.
