But the singer appears to have accepted his failed marriage.
In an interview with UK radio station Magic 105.4 Ronan opened up about he and Yvonne’s divorce in April this year, saying, "It's been a tough couple of years — I deserve what I got."
The couple split after three (presumably) long years of trying to save their relationship after Yvonne discovered steamy texts Ronan sent to a 27-year-old back-up dancer in 2009.
Francine Cornell claimed Ronan bombarded her with messages between May and June of that year before the duo enjoyed a seven-month-long affair.
The singer’s new philosophical attitude reveals he has come a long way since feeling "terrible" back in '09.
Perhaps Ronan's professional success down under has something to do with it?
The Australian X Factor judge told Magic he is excited by the show's popularity.
"We blew the ratings with 2.3 million which is the biggest we have ever had. We are number one show down there so that’s amazing, very excited to go back down," he said.
Yvonne has moved on with cameraman John Conroy since splitting from Ronan but the pair are reportedly still on good terms for the sake of their kids — Jack, 13, Missy, 11 and Ali, 6.
