will.i.am's car held hostage, thief posts creepy 'ransom' video

Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am has been sent a bizarre "ransom" message after his car was stolen from outside an LA hotel this week.

"will.i.ain't, will.you.are, heard you're looking for your car," taunts the creepy masked bandit who claims to be holding the vehicle hostage.

"Did you look closer? Did you look far? Did you look in your cupboard? Did you look in a jar? will.i'm.not, will.you.are, ha, ha, ha, I stole your car."

The musician's car was stolen from outside an LA hotel on August 14.

Today he tweeted, "If you really have [the car] you going to be found," after the clip was posted on YouTube by a user called 'willimnotanon'.

The musician added that he won't be calling police, opting instead to hunt down the thief via social media.

"I'm not going to the police ... spread the word via tweets in case I'm getting punk'd," he wrote. "I don't want to waste tax dollars on pranks #wheresmycar."

The bizarre incident has sparked a meme on Twitter, with pranksters tweeting photos of unusual cars and asking for a reward.
