Director Rupert Sanders (aka, the guy who broke up Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson) looked understandably cranky yesterday as paps filmed him shopping for one at a Malibu supermarket.
The shamed Brit maintained a stiff upper lip as he loaded groceries into his car, refusing to bucklet under the pressure of dropped vegies and photographers quizzing him about whether he'd spoken to Kristen.
Rupert's wife Liberty Ross was spotted earlier this week without her wedding ring, hinting that his desperate attempts to save their marriage may have failed.
Meanwhile, Kristen will be a no-show at the London premiere of her Jack Kerouac movie On The Road, Radar Online reports.
"She's too ashamed to show her face in public right now," a source told the gossip site.
"After everything that has been said, and in light of the revelations that she cheated on Robert with director Rupert Sanders, she's running scared at the moment.
"There's also the dilemma of standing next to her co-star in the movie, Tom Sturridge. He's very close to Rob and Kristen thinks it would be awkward for her to promote the movie on the red carpet alongside him."
Also chiming in on the cheating saga is Twilight: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon. He's called on fans to show some respect to Rob and Kristen as their "life in a fishbowl" split plays out in the public eye.
"They have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it's time that some of that respect be returned to them," he said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
