Cops were called to Katie's New York apartment on Friday after her neighbours spotted two men with guns sitting in a van outside the building.
According to a report by the New York Post, Katie had told her neighbour she thought she was being stalked.
Police questioned the men but "did not get any substantive answers", according to the Post.
Amid widespread reports that Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology have put Katie under "surveillance", a lawyer from the church has released a statement: “There is no truth whatsoever … that the Church of Scientology has sent anyone to follow or surveil Katie Holmes."
New details are emerging about the reason for the split. In her divorce papers, Katie reportedly says the marriage was "irretrievably" damaged more than six months ago.
Further reports claim that Katie decided to make the break from Tom because of his plans to send their six-year-old daughter Suri to Sea Org — a military-style Scientology boarding school on board a ship.
