It could happen.
I hear the Oscar winner and Posh Spice got along famously at the Costume Institute Gala in New York City on Monday night.
"They hit it off right away," a source close to the new pals tells me. So much so that it wasn't long before the two moms were sharing family pictures. "They were showing each other photos of their kids," my source says. "They were just laughing and sharing mommy stories."
Mrs. Becks certainly has made herself at home in Hollywood. Roberts is just the latest addition to an A-list roster of friends that already includes Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria Parker and Kate Beckinsale.
