He's no stranger to lip synching and simplified choreography. In fact, Matt's extensive experience with crappy boy bands is probably what got him the role!
Last night Jay Leno embarrassed the 32-year-old actor with a clip from his pre-fame days, starring in the 2003 film Marci X.
"I can't believe you are doing this to me right now," laughed Matthew as the clip played.
"It was the gayest thing I have ever done in my life, literally, I was in a gay boy band called Boys R Us."
The film also starred Lisa Kudrow and was a total box office flop (in case you were wondering why you'd never heard of it). Check out a scene from the movie above!
And as if a starring role in Glee and a cringe-worthy role in a fictional boy band aren't enough, Matthew was also a member of an actual boy band!
Back in 2002 he had a brief stint in the short-lived pop group LMNT (pronounced 'Element', not 'Lament'), a group of rejects from the reality show Making The Band.
With an A Capella rendition of 'Papa Was a Rolling Stone' and an adaptation of 'A Whole New World' from Aladdin, amazingly the band never made it big!
