A US college is offering a course on Lady Gaga. Students at the University of South Carolina will be able to learn about the Poker Face star as part of their degree.
Sociology professor Mathieu Deflem believes the course - Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame - is the only one of its kind in the United States.
"The central objective is to unravel some of the sociologically relevant dimensions of the fame of Lady Gaga," the university's description reads.
Mr Deflem says he wants his students to understand what being famous means in modern-day culture. He told the New York Times that he became interested in the singer when he saw her on Jay Leno's late-night talk show in 2009.
He say,s "If you really don't like her, you probably shouldn't take the course. But you don't have to be an expert."
